Jazzy J shares the same birthplace as Jazz Great John Coltrane - the small town of  Hamlet N.C.  A true country boy he joined the Untied States Air Force in 1982, retiring after 22 years of service. He has been an Event Disc Jockey in Charleston for seven years and specializes in Weddings, Family Reunions and “Old School Parties”. JazzyJ is a student of Contemporary, Smooth Groove and Urban Jazz.

Jazzy J has only one objective “To Share the music of Jazz with the listeners”. The passion he has when laying jazz tracks is his trademark. His enthusiasm rivals the fervor of an Xbox or a PS2 addict. Jazzy J says that when playing jazz on the radio starts to feel like work he’ll “stop playing and just own a lot of music”

Jazzy J’s favorite quotes are: “There are only two types of music -- good and bad” (Miles Davis); “Every day above ground is a good day”; and, “If the Lord is willing and…only if  He is willing”.
