Chris Brown Issues Desperate Plea To Fans To Help Save His Career
Chris Brown's career is in trouble, and he's turning to his fans for help. Chris posted a message on his SayNow.com website account, which lets artists post voice message, asking fans to contact radio stations and ask them to play his music. Sounding upset in the message, Chris -- whose account is under the name C. Breezy -- says, "I ain't never really did this but right now, I'm just calling on ya'll. I need all of my fans' help...some radio stations aren't playing my records. They're not being that supportive...it's on the fans and what you guys do...to bring me back, because that's all I need is you guys."
Chris, who's still trying to rehabilitate his image after assaulting Rihanna last year, states in his message that he's "doing everything that I need to do...I'm doing 'me' as a person and I'm a better guy," but adds, "It's on y'all. My singing and music is all great, and I do it for you guys and the love and everything else, but it won't be possible if I'm not relevant on the radio." He laughed ruefully, "I can't be an underground mixtape artist!"
Chris' album Graffiti, released in December, has so far only sold 250 thousand copies -- a far cry from his 2007 album Exclusive, which went double platinum. The first single, "I Can Transform Ya," did all right on the charts, but Chris doesn't currently have any charting songs.
