Urban Acts at Bonnaroo?

Will R&B and hip-hop acts fly at Bonnaroo with the eco-friendly hippie crowd?  The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival lineup for 2010 will include Jay-Z, Stevie Wonder, Nas, Damien Marley, B.O.B., Wale, Jay Electronica and Kid Cudi.

Widely regarded as a rock and indie music festival, Bonnaroo is a four-day festival held in Manchester, TN on a 700-acre farm every June.  Beginning in 2002 with a primary focus on jam bands, this year's lineup shows the evolution of the festival.  In fact, the word Bonnaroo, meaning "a really good time," was popularized by R&B artist Dr. John with his album Desitively Bonnaroo in 1974.  In addition to hip hop, Bonnaroo now features an everchanging showcase of musical styles, including jazz, americana, bluegrass, country, folk, gospel, reggae, electronica, and alternative.

Reactions to the lineup have been mixed.  While there is no question that Stevie Wonder can put on a great live show, critics are questioning whether or not the integration of hip-hop will fancy the farm crowd.

General admission tickets for Bonnaroo 2010 are currently being sold for $234.50 plus applicable fees, and prices will then be sold for $249.50.  RV and RV Companion vehicle passes are also available for purchase for $150.00 including service fees.  Tickets can be purchased on the Bonnaroo website at www.bonnaroo.com.
